Established in 1965, The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) was the first fully accredited international school in Malaysia and is home to more than 1,600 students from over 60 countries. It was also the first school in Malaysia to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Many of the school’s graduates attend the world’s most prestigious universities and continue to improve the lives of communities around the world.
ISKL is a private nonprofit, parent-governed school accredited internationally through the Council of International Schools (CIS), and in the United States through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). ISKL, the first IB accredited school in Malaysia, is also authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
ISKL has a strong focus on service and sustainability across its divisions and is a member of the Eco-Schools organization and the Green Schools Alliance.
The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) has championed a holistic approach to the education of young people for over 50 years. Faculty at the school are recruited from around the world, with 75% of them holding a Master’s or terminal degree in their discipline; over 85% of faculty have nine or more years teaching experience. The school offers each student access to a broad range of opportunities in the arts, athletics, service, academics, and more with many opportunities for travel throughout the region for both performance and athletic competition, as well through the High School’s Global Action Program (GAP) and Malaysia Week programs in the Middle School.
