Brief description of entry evaluation required

CDL may ask for students to be tested in English and Maths before accepting their application, so that it can gauge which classes suit them best. Students who may not yet be comfortable in English will be able to join English as a Second Language classes before entering the mainstream. These tests can be taken online if necessary. An English placement test is required for all Middle and High School students.

CDL believes in helping your child to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and setting them on a path to achievement.
The school's experienced staff and teachers help each student prepare a plan for the year ahead, and work with them to make sure that they are on track. If the student needs to change their approach or requires further guidance, CDL can offer support in a classroom or a smaller group setting. CDL can also assist students with mild to moderate learning difficulties.

Students can drop in for extra assistance if they feel they need help, and are assessed regularly to make sure they are making good progress towards their aims.

The school supports gifted, able and talented students

CDL offers a stimulating programme for children with exceptional academic abilities.

As well as the diverse curriculum, CDL offers a Gifted and Talented initiative for students who excel in the classroom. Those students are invited to take part in an optional programme of tuition and guest speakers, who can unlock new wonders in certain curriculum subjects.

Students with an aptitude for learning can discover fresh inspiration from studying it at a higher level.
