A Personalised Admissions Experience

Relocating abroad as a family can feel overwhelming. Alongside finding a new home, adjusting to a different culture, navigating unfamiliar systems, and starting new jobs, one of the most important decisions for parents is choosing the right school for their children.

At La Côte International School (LCIS), our Admissions team is here to guide you every step of the way. We offer an individual approach to admissions, shaped around your family’s needs, and we can also connect you with trusted local resources to help make the transition easier.

We invite families to explore LCIS through our Virtual Open Days and Virtual School Tours, which provide a clear sense of our learning environment and community before you even arrive in Switzerland. If you are able to visit in person, we look forward to welcoming you on campus as well.

Prospective students are also encouraged to take part in a Discovery Day, spending either half or a full day alongside their future classmates. Supported by carefully chosen student buddies, children can experience lessons, meet teachers, and begin forming friendships — an excellent way to see whether LCIS feels like the right fit. For younger children, we offer gentle transition opportunities through Stay and Play sessions, helping Early Years students become comfortable in their new surroundings.

Relocation and Local Support
To support families beyond the school gates, LCIS can recommend experienced relocation professionals. Whether you need help finding accommodation, managing local administration, organising health insurance, or settling into the region, trusted partners can assist at the level you need.

Located at the foot of the Jura mountains near Lake Geneva, LCIS offers families access to an exceptional lifestyle — from charming villages and vineyard towns to the nearby city of Lausanne. With Switzerland’s efficient public transport network, travel between Lausanne and Geneva is also very manageable.

A Warm, Boutique School Community
LCIS prides itself on offering families a strong sense of belonging from the very beginning. With around 450 students from Early Years through the International Baccalaureate, we remain a boutique-sized school where every child receives the personal attention they deserve. Families often speak of the school’s warm atmosphere and close community spirit.

We also provide tailored support for students developing their English or French skills, helping them integrate smoothly into classroom life as quickly as possible.

Welcoming the Whole Family
At the start of each school year, new students are invited to an Orientation Day, and parents can join relaxed welcome events designed to encourage connection and community. The LCIS Parent Teacher Association plays an important role in school life, organising social gatherings, cultural celebrations, and opportunities for families to meet one another. Expats often find these events invaluable in building friendships and support networks.

Teachers maintain close communication with parents, and our pastoral care team ensures every student feels supported both academically and emotionally throughout their time at LCIS.

Thriving Together in Switzerland
Relocating to a new country is a major life step — exciting, but often daunting. At La Côte International School, our commitment goes beyond academics. We are here to support your family as you build a new home in Switzerland. From your first enquiry through every stage of your child’s education, our dedicated staff, counsellors, and guidance teams work to ensure students feel confident, connected, and able to flourish.

Whether Switzerland becomes your long-term base or part of a wider international journey, you will always find a caring community, friendly faces, and genuine support at LCIS.
