The Korea International School culture of curiosity, creativity, and continuous learning inspires growth. Last year KIS celebrated 25 years providing a student-centered high quality education that prepares graduates for success at leading universities and in their professional lives. This spring, 

KIS student learning is enriched by unique applied learning, inquiry, and community building opportunities, including through the experiential education (EE) program. Travel around the peninsula gives students a greater understanding of Korean history, culture, and environment. International trips within the region encourage students to connect with their wider world through service, challenge, and adventure. The KIS EE program promotes incredible personal growth in a community context.

The arts program is another avenue KIS students explore. Arts essentials are introduced in elementary school through craft experimentation and play that allows young artists, musicians, and performers to inhabit those roles. Middle and high school arts classes and performances refine skills. The arts offer a fulfilling way forward. For many students, a lifelong creative pursuit starts in an arts classroom. 

Co-curricular programming further enhances the KIS experience with a range of creative, athletic, intellectual, and competitive afterschool activities such as VEX Robotics, musicals, seasonal sports, jamborees, and speech and debate. 

The KIS academic program is strong with multiple paths to success. KIS students practice risk and failure as part of the learning process. KIS teachers, counselors, and administrators know students and partner with families to ensure each student thrives in their academic coursework. And each year KIS celebrates as seniors choose what comes next. This year KIS is proud to share that the class of 2026 has acceptances to Cornell, Harvard, Pratt Institute, Stanford, and University College London.

KIS believes that what students learn through activities and athletics, the arts, or on an EE adventure contributes to their academic learning as they develop confidence in their ability to grow.
