A hidden gem for families seeking a truly personalized, boutique education.

As a mother who has been part of the Mammolina family for a year and a half, I wanted to share our personal experience to offer a perspective for families considering this unique path.

First and foremost, it is important to understand that Mammolina is not a "cookie-cutter" international school. It is a boutique project, and frankly, it is not for everyone—and that is exactly why we chose it. It is a school that requires an alignment of values and lifestyle. For families looking for a massive institution with standardized processes, this might not be the fit. But for those of us seeking a cared-for, human-centric, and individualized education, it is a gem.

The "boutique" size is its greatest strength. Currently, the ratio in the Primary classroom is roughly one guide for every 12 students. This allows for the Montessori method to truly shine, placing the child at the absolute center of their academic progress. The guides are not just teachers; they are travel companions for our son, adapting to his specific needs and keeping his flame for learning alive.
Seeing our son's growth has been the best proof of this method. After a necessary period of adaptation during his first year, he recently shared his feelings about school with a maturity that surprised us: "It is going well. I’m working more, better, and I can focus to complete my work. I love writing the journals as they help me understand what comes next." To see him find that structure and motivation within himself has been wonderful.

I also want to highlight the role of the school counselor, which has been a game-changer for our family. We came from another environment where our son was misunderstood and labeled negatively at a very young age. Upon arriving at Mammolina, the counselor took the time to truly observe him without judgment. Her professional insight was pivotal; she was able to look past surface-level behaviors to identify what he truly needed to thrive. Thanks to her expertise, we now understand him better and have found the right resources to support his development.

I believe in writing honest reviews, so I will be transparent: the journey hasn't been without its bumps. Last year, the school faced a challenging period with unexpected staff turnover due to justified personal reasons. These things are impossible to predict. However, what defined that moment for us was the school's response. The Director (a trained Montessori guide herself) stepped into the classroom to ensure stability, and the management moved mountains to find qualified replacements who met the high language and pedagogical standards in record time. While communication with the office slowed down during the crisis, it was clear that the priority was—rightfully—the children inside the classroom. The school was resolutive and committed. We chose to stay because of how they handled the storm.

Like any organization, there are always areas to improve, but the "core" of Mammolina is solid. The dedication and affection from the staff, and the Direction's willingness to listen to families and implement changes, make us feel respected and valued.

It is a truly international environment with families from all over the world, and we feel lucky to be part of such a genuine community.
