My son studied at the British School of Sofia for three years, and I can confidently say this is Bulgaria's most international school. Children from all over the world, from many different countries and backgrounds, study here. It's a vibrant, multicultural community where diversity is truly celebrated.
This school stands out because it’s not just “British” in name—it’s genuinely a British school. Qualified teachers teach all subjects in English, and Bulgarian is offered as a second language. Unlike many other schools in Bulgaria claiming to be British, the British School of Sofia follows the British curriculum and maintains high academic standards.
One of the things I appreciated most was the school’s strong support system for non-native English speakers. Additional English classes help students quickly reach the level needed to study confidently in English across all subjects.
