Use of technology in the classroom

Our school uses Gsuite for Education and the students are trained from Grade 1 to use Google Classroom. Students have ICT lessons once a week and master the use of contemporary applications in the field of programming, integrate information into school curricula and thus connect more realistically to their learning experience. Students are encouraged to use extended serach skills to connect with other subjects and share their work through multimedia presentations.

Is the school ready to use virtual classrooms when needed? (e.g. teaching lessons online if the school is closed, e.g. during COVID-19 closures)

Castelli International has been using Google Classroom for a few years and thanks to this, moved seamlessly from in-school learning to the virtual classroom from the very first Covid-19 lockdown. Virtual lessons are held via Google Meet as well as assemblies and conferences.

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

Castelli International School is one of the most exciting and stimulating green international schools in Europe. Founded in 1977, the school is beautifully situated on a hilltop overlooking Rome, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves on the slopes of the Alban hills.
CIS is the only fully integrated international private day school in Italy catering for children from Year 1 through 9.

Teaching approach of the school

The school sees every child as an individual and recognises that children learn differently, and at different paces. Castelli's hands-on approach is clearly expressed in the Chinese proverb: “When I hear, I forget. When I see, I remember. When I do, I understand.”
