Language support for students not fluent in English

International British Academy offers the ESL (English as a Second Language) to non-native speakers of English who have insufficient English competency to be successful in the academic programme. To enable the students to continue his/her advancement in the regular academic programme, integrated into the ESL Programme are instructions in Mathematics, Science and History. The students will also attend regular academic classes in Introductory Filipino (Introfil), ICT, Art, Music and P.E.

To conform with the British educational system, the policy of the school is to place children in their proper age group. The academic aptitude, social readiness and English proficiency of the child will be evaluated. A written assessment test will be conducted.

The International British Academy was founded as a school in November 2001, to provide a British education for English-speaking students of all nationalities from age three to seventeen.

The school believes that while striving for academic excellence, it is crucial to bring out what is best in each child. The competent, dedicated and caring teachers guide students to develop their full intellectual, creative and physical potential with goals of fostering self-esteem, independence, intellectual curiosity and moral character.

The International British Academy is Christian in outlook and mission. The programme includes the teaching of Christian values, which are acceptable to all major religions. The school’s programme also includes a study of other major religions, for the more senior children.
