My child had a very disappointing experience at this private primary school.
For almost three years, my child was verbally and physically bullied by another student. Unfortunately, no effective action was taken by the school during that period. However, when my child finally tried to stand up for himself (in a non-physical way) after being repeatedly provoked, the other student’s parents lodged a complaint, and my child was isolated for three days. The bullying continued until his final day at the school. This lack of consistent and fair handling was deeply concerning.
The school also places excessive focus on unnecessary activities and competitions. It often feels like these events are created to showcase the school’s image rather than to genuinely benefit the students. Instead of fostering growth, such constant comparisons can leave some children feeling excluded or inadequate if they are not selected or do not participate.
Academically, I find the standards lacking depth. Students are often given exam tips that help them score well in internal school assessments, but this does not necessarily reflect true understanding or mastery of the subjects.
Additionally, my child participated in a Shine Recital. It is perfectly normal for children to make mistakes during performances — these moments are part of learning and growth. However, after the recital, the person in charge addressed parents and students publicly, suggesting that parents should prepare their children with external music teachers to raise their standards for the following year. This was said in front of all performing students and parents, which felt inappropriate and discouraging. Furthermore, adequate rehearsal time was not provided by the school.
My child ultimately left the school feeling deeply disappointed.

We have sent 2 children to this school (Sri KDU Kota Damansara) since they were in primary. My review however is based on the International Secondary school as it is now, in 2025.
There have been so many disappointments ever since the new management and school leadership took over several years ago. I cannot overstate how things have changed, in my opinion for the worse.
Most distressingly, many subjects for my children’s classes are now taught by substitute Teachers and the teaching standard for many of them (not all of them, to be fair) is shocking. Besides a few teachers who have good subject knowledge and engage the kids well, many other teachers get away with being rude and in some cases engaging in what I consider bully-behaviour.
