Students at Hamelin-Laie have once again achieved impressive academic outcomes, recording excellent performances in both Spain's PAU university entrance examinations and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

These achievements highlight the school's commitment to academic excellence, personalised learning and dedicated student support. Through both the National Baccalaureate and the IB Diploma pathway, students are equipped with the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to continue their education at top universities both in Spain and internationally.

Excellent Performance in the PAU Examinations

This year, 31 students sat the PAU examinations, with 97% successfully obtaining the qualification required for university admission.

The group achieved an average university access score of 7.48 out of 10, while the average university admission mark reached 11.01 out of 14.

Among the standout achievements, the highest admission score was 12.05 out of 14. Students also earned exceptional results in individual subjects, including a perfect score of 10 in Philosophy and marks of 9.5 in Spanish, English, Physics and Technical Drawing.

Reflecting on the results, Fraser Halliwell, Head of Secondary, praised the students' dedication and commitment throughout the academic year.

"It has been a pleasure to see our students' hard work rewarded with another exceptional set of examination results this year. The data speaks for itself. Our National Baccalaureate results remain consistently strong, providing students with access to leading universities across Catalonia, Spain and around the world."
Continued Success in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

The Class of 2026 also delivered strong results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Of the 75 students enrolled in the programme, 93% were awarded the IB Diploma. This represents an increase of eight percentage points compared with the previous year's provisional outcome.

Students achieved an average score of 31.0 points, surpassing the current global IB average of 30.88 points. The highest individual result reached an outstanding 43 points out of a possible 45.

According to Mr Halliwell, these achievements reflect the ongoing development of the school's IB provision:
"We are proud of our IB Diploma students, who have built on last year's success with a further increase in Diplomas awarded and a 1.2-point rise in the average score."
