Nursery classrooms have less than 14 students. Kindergarten classrooms have less than 22 students. Nursery and Kindergarten classrooms have 1 or 2 teacher assistants. Grades 1-12 have less than 22 students in each classroom.

Students in Kindergarten School will have daily homework. This will always include language arts (especially reading) and math since they are such important skills. There may be other assignments depending on the projects being undertaken by each class at any given time. Parents can expect their child to spend from ten to fifteen minutes on homework each night.

Students in Elementary School will have daily homework. This will always include language arts and math since they are such important skills. There may be other assignments depending on the projects being undertaken by each class at any given time. Parents can expect their child to spend from ten to thirty minutes on homework each night.

Students in Secondary School may not always have daily homework. There may be other assignments depending on the projects being undertaken by each class at any given time. Parents can expect their child to spend from thirty to sixty minutes on homework each night.

KPIS Counselors support for students with mild to moderate learning difficulties.

Interview and placement test.

Kindergarten: Students entering the Nursery up to Pre-Kindergarten 2 are interviewed by the Kindergarten School Division Head. Students will take a placement test for entry into kindergarten in addition to an interview.

Elementary School: Students will take a placement test for entry into the appropriate grade level in addition to an interview in English and if necessary an IES test to assess English proficiency.

Secondary School: Students will do the Michigan Test to determine English Language proficiency in addition to an interview in English.

At KPIS students have the advantage of experiencing the best of both Western and Eastern fundamentals by learning the American Curriculum in an Asian Environment.

The main thrust of the curriculum is the acquisition of basic cognitive and social skills needed for success in life and the advanced knowledge and skills that will make the students competitive with graduates of the best educational institutions anywhere in the world. In order to attain this, every student is provided with high quality educational opportunities. At the same time, assessments are made to measure student knowledge pursuant to standards set for each grade level in every subject area.
