Quick summary of key school information
School details
| Number of students |
15-20 |
| Number of nationalities represented in the school |
Soooo many different nationalities! We love how kids from around the world can become best buddies instantly, it's beautiful to see |
| Most common nationality |
It changes a lot, but overall the most common nationalities we've had are Australian, Dutch and German. |
| Ratio of local students to international students |
Unfortunately we rarely are graced with local, Indonesian/Balinese students - for the most part they attend local national schools. |
| Native English speaking teachers |
The language of instruction is English. Most of our teachers are local Indonesian nationals, totally fluent in English, while the head-teacher is a native English speaking British-Canadian. |
| Language support for students not fluent in English |
We have a very flexible and more relaxed approach so there isn't any pressure on students who aren't fluent in English. They very quickly pick up English simply by making friends and having fun, starting off communicating on a basic level and this boosts their confidence. Language acquisition is very rapid when this happens. |

| Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
Joglo Clubhouse is a flexible, informal, lovely little school that can provide a truly joyful experience for families who are visiting Bali short-term as well as for long-term residents. Our primary goal is student well-being, positive character-building, and academic progress. At the heart of the Joglo philosophy is a strong emphasis on creativity and confidence through the arts and active fun, while ensuring a firm grounding in Math and English. |
| Teaching approach of the school |
Joglo Clubhouse is very much the definition of a student-centered approach. When a school adopts a certain curriculum or method, then that is the focus, not the students themselves. We appreciate the wonderful benefits of all approaches, and use any of them when the time is right - when it's best for the individual student. With such a low student-teacher ratio, the teachers enjoy bringing a more personalized approach to the classroom. |
