This August, we begin an exciting new phase in the evolution of sport at Rugby School Thailand with the opening of a dedicated Golf Performance Centre, developed in collaboration with TPR Golf Academy. This new facility reflects a growing commitment to providing our students with high-quality pathways in sport - whether they are picking up a club for the first time or already competing at an advanced level.

The new Golf Performance Centre will allow golf to form part of our structured enrichment programme. This means regular, timetabled access for students across age groups and abilities, embedding the sport into the School day and allowing consistent development.

Central to the programme is a carefully tiered approach, ensuring that each student is supported at the right stage of their journey:

  • SNAG (Starting New At Golf) introduces younger or beginner players to the fundamentals in an engaging, accessible way. The focus here is simple: build confidence, coordination and enjoyment.
  • Development continues to build momentum, helping students refine core techniques while maintaining a relaxed, positive environment. At this stage, enthusiasm and consistency matter more than anything else!
  • Intermediate players experience a more structured approach, combining technical coaching with real on-course application, alongside opportunities to represent the school in competitive fixtures.
  • Elite athletes receive a highly focused training experience designed to support performance at the highest level. With regular tournament play and tailored coaching, students are guided in managing pressure, sharpening consistency and preparing for pathways such as scholarships and advanced competition.
This structure will mean that golf is not limited to a select few, but can become a sport that students can enter at any point and continue to grow over time.

Golf teaches patience, focus, resilience and integrity - qualities that translate directly into academic study and life beyond School. By investing in this new centre, we are not only nurturing future athletes but also supporting the development of well-rounded, confident individuals, linking back to the central Rugby School ethos: The Whole Person, The Whole Point.

The new Golf Performance Centre will be positioned at the edge of the campus, near our Webb Ellis Centre; a location that allows students to move easily between academic lessons, fitness training and golf practice, while also being accessible to families and members of the wider local community. By launching another first-rate sporting facility, we are not only strengthening our School offering but also growing as a hub for sporting excellence in Chonburi.
