Do teachers assign homework to their students?

In the Lower School, there is no formal homework timetable. However, students are asked to read as much as possible, parents are asked to contextualise classroom learning in the real world and staff to have the option to send focused work home to support or extend learning.
From Grade 6 there is set homework per day. This is manageable for students, as we wish our students to have a balance between extending their learning beyond the classroom, alongside being able to take part in co-curricular activities. However, instilling a level of independence within our students is important and we ensure our students have the opportunity to learn this.

Approximate hours of homework given

Between 45 minutes and one and a half hours per day, depending on the Grade. For older Grades where the time allocation is bigger, Private Study periods are allocated within their timetable to ensure they are able to complete the work on time. Grade 6 to Grade 12 also have the opportunity to use the school library each day after school.

Percentage of students who pursue further education post-graduation

In 2025, 59 out of 65 our graduating students went onto higher education. Of the class, 43% of graduating students received offers from Russel Group universities. In 2025, one of our Grade 12 students received an offer from Oxford University.

The school supports gifted, able and talented students

All of our teaching and learning is differentiated to ensure that all students are pushed to their full potential.
