Located in the greater Bangkok area just north of the city, our peaceful campus and community are next door to Nichada Thani. We are a small community with a big heart—we believe every child deserves to feel known, valued, and inspired to grow. Since 1990, we have provided a warm, caring, and high-quality international education for students. Initially an Early Years school, we have grown through the years and now offer Secondary School. We may be small, but our diverse community includes over 30 nationalities with just ~260 students.
Our Early Years Programme is inspired by Reggio Emilio and offers a unique Separation Program for parents, caregivers or nannies to join students in those initial days. Our IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) fosters curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is one of the very few in northern Bangkok and we continue to grow—now offering up to Grade 11 with AP offerings. Our learning approach is personalized and ensures that each child receives the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
What makes MYIS unique is our strong sense of community. With smaller class sizes and dedicated teachers who truly know each student, we create meaningful relationships that help children build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. We believe learning is most powerful when students feel safe, supported, and connected.

Teaching approach of the school
|
MYIS follows a holistic, whole-child approach to education that promotes both independent and collaborative learning through inquiry, play, and meaningful real-world connections. Guided by the IB philosophy and American Common Core standards, students are encouraged to think critically, communicate confidently, and develop as caring global citizens.
|
Early Years | Ages 1 to 6
At the heart of the IB framework is inquiry- based learning, encouraging young learners to explore and make sense of the world around them. Through meaningful learning invitations and provocations, children ask questions, think critically, and develop essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes through play.
Play-based learning is central to our IB approach, offering young learners meaningful opportunities to explore, experiment, and make sense of their world. Through play, children develop:
• Curiosity and Creativity: Encouraging them to ask questions.
• Critical Thinking: Problem-solving and making connections.
• Social-Emotional Skills: Engaging in collaboration and communication.
• Hands-On Experiences: Deepening understanding through active participation.
IB Primary Years Program | Ages 6 to 11
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an inquiry-based framework that encourages students to explore meaningful questions, think critically, and make connections across subject areas. Through transdisciplinary learning experiences, students develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners.
Guided by the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning, students build communication, collaboration, research, and self-management skills while engaging in authentic, real-world learning. Alongside the IB framework, our curriculum integrates American Common Core Standards in literacy and mathematics to ensure students develop strong academic foundations while learning through inquiry and exploration.
IB Middle Years Program | Ages 11 to 16
The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for students in Grades 6–10 and provides a challenging, inquiry-based framework that encourages students to make meaningful connections between their learning and the world around them. Through the MYP, students develop strong critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while exploring concepts across a range of subject areas.
Learning in the MYP emphasizes inquiry, creativity, innovation, personal responsibility, and reflection, helping students grow both academically and personally. Our personalized approach ensures students are supported and challenged as individuals while preparing them for future pathways in upper secondary and beyond.
AP High School | Ages 16-17
Our Secondary School is expanding to offer Grades 11 and 12, providing students with rigorous academic pathways designed to support a wide range of university and career goals.
Students choose from three graduation pathways: MYIS Diploma, AP Pathway, and the Excellence Pathway. Each pathway is designed to support different learning styles, interests, and post-secondary goals—while maintaining strong academic rigor and university readiness. We also provide personalized academic guidance that support university readiness, critical thinking, and subject specialization. These pathways allow students to pursue their strengths and interests while preparing for higher education opportunities around the world.
