The school supports gifted, able and talented students

Bromsgrove recognises that many of the students are exceptionally gifted within,
across and beyond the curriculum. Whilst their needs will often be met by the effective, personalised and differentiated learning experience provided by their class teacher(s), Bromsgrove believes that it is important to identify its most able students, and ensure both that they are given sufficient stretch and challenge and that they achieve their full potential.
In addition, Bromsgrove is hosting the World Scholar’s Cup Regional Round for the next two years, having been recognised as a centre of excellence for this competition as well.
Bromsgrove has a Gifted and Talented co-ordinator whose role is to advise the teaching staff on best practice in terms of Gifted and Talented education, identify and track the students best placed on a Gifted and Talented register and oversee the school’s extra-curricular Gifted and Talented provision.
The school's extra-curricular provision for Gifted and Talented students includes: World Scholar’s Cup, MUN (Model United Nations) and an Amnesty international group. Bromsgrove also has a wide range of competitive sporting events to encompass students who are Gifted and Talented outside of the academic arena.

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

Bromsgrove International School Thailand (BIST) provides an outstanding boarding and day school education for students aged 2-18 years.
Being affiliated with Bromsgrove School, UK enables the school to draw on over 460 years of experience in education. BIST aims to bring the best aspects of that history focusing on the development of each student by providing them with a traditional ‘British’ education in an international setting. Academically selective, BIST follows an enhanced form of the English National Curriculum, which enjoys an excellent reputation throughout the world. The emphasis is on how to learn, rather than just memorising factual knowledge, and a great deal of importance is placed on the students’ ability to work independently and to develop their own critical thinking.

Teaching approach of the school

BIST Curriculum is based upon the English Curriculum. BIST ensures that it embodies the best elements of it and adapt it to fit its location and make learning relevant to the unique environment that it finds itself in. The curriculum offers depth, rigour, variety, quality and an internationally recognised standard of high achievement. As students progress through the community the curriculum adapts and reflects the differing needs of the developing individual. In the Key Stage booklets you can see a much more detailed account of the specific curriculum that has been designed for each Year Group.
