Before enrolling your child you might want to find out the schools maps performance averages for your year group or get some tangible evidence of the class performance. The last 12 months have been bittersweet as my child made amazing friends and had some genuinely good time while at the same time my child dropped from a high achiever to an average achiever academically. She had 3 teachers in 1 year. constantly told to sit and wait quietly once finished. Teachers are lovely people. Very kind. but the kids are not being pushed and are not learning at the level they could or should. The extra curricular activities are mostly good but planned poorly. For example there will be a Thursday public holiday and they will put a teachers day on the Monday and a sports carnival on the Friday for half a day. As a parent that likes to explore this beautiful island I shake my head, If those days were flipped we could have had a 4 day weekend.... It is a lovely campus, very friendly but unfortunately failing our kids academically. I had no faith in the reports I was given (all saying she was amazing) so I employed professionals for independent testing to find out how bad it is and have now hired a tutor for 5 hours a week to help her get back to where she was when she started at the school. It is likely that for us, after spending this holiday period establishing the issues, I am certain that this will be my child's last term.
