Brief description of entry evaluation required

All children applying for grade 1 must take part in a school entrance examination. This examination consists of several tasks in the areas of cognitive as well as social-emotional competences and motor skills. It gives valuable information on school readiness from a pedagogical point of view. This school entrance examination is conducted by teaching staff from the Elementary School in May.
If the lingua franca at home is not German, we will check the child's knowledge of German language in a language test. Prerequisites for enrolment in the school are strong capabilities of the child and German language skills, which are sufficient to follow German lessons.
