Andy Puttock
Principal
I am honoured to lead this vibrant and dynamic school, which is conveniently located between Lausanne and Geneva and welcomes both Swiss and international communities.
While our academic results match those of some of the best schools internationally, we firmly believe that education is about so much more. Our aim is to give your child the challenge, opportunities and personal support they need to achieve more here than at any other school. Therefore, we only employ the most passionate, highly qualified teachers and ensure that at least one teacher knows your child extremely well and monitors their learning closely to ensure they are achieving their absolute best.
Our graduates go on to study at the best universities in Switzerland and abroad. With an average IBDP score of 36 points in 2020-21, our most recent graduates have been accepted to top universities such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Through Nord Anglia Education's unique collaborations, we nurture in our students the skills they need for tomorrow's world. Our performing arts are strengthened through guidance from The Juilliard School, and with MIT we take a hands-on approach to STEAM teaching. With UNICEF, we learn to find local solutions to global problems.
We know that choosing the right school for your child is a massive decision, but we promise to do everything we can to help you find out if LCIS is the right choice for your family, too.

Dedicated staff/programs for students with special learning needs

LCIS is an inclusive school and welcomes students with identified learning difficulties.
Within the framework of our possibilities as a mainstream school, we offer support for students requiring extra attention. Students sometimes require specific, tailored education plans to allow them to function to the best of their ability in the school. Where appropriate, teachers, with the assistance of our Learning Support Coordinators in Primary and Secondary, will develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for these students. This plan clearly details to all staff and parents any special arrangements that have been put in place to provide a student with the support they require. Parents are involved at all stages of this process and its planning, monitoring and review. Fees may apply.

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

We are not just a school, but a family, and our parents, students and teachers all act together as one to care for and nurture your children to make our school the best place for each one to learn, grow and flourish. Our structured and deliberate approach to personalised learning ensures that your child will be given the challenge, support and opportunities to achieve more here than at any other school.
|
Teaching approach of the school
|
Our vision of educational excellence extends beyond the classroom to include opportunities facilitated through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths), sports and the performing arts. These enriching learning opportunities ensure that our students are equipped with the skills to shape the world they inherit.

Learning
Our bespoke curriculum offers our students aged 2-18 the possibility of an English, French or bilingual route, following the Early Years Foundation Stage, a Primary curriculum incorporating aspects of the English National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum, and the IB MYP in Year 7-9, followed by the IGCSE and the IBDP in Secondary. Our broad choice of MYP and DP subjects allows students to focus on their strengths and fulfil their interests. In addition, we offer a preparatory Swiss Maturité programme.
Campus
Our school is very well equipped with dedicated spaces to offer a creative, transformative curriculum in subjects such as science, visual arts, music, dance and drama, as well as design technology, IT and film. This ensures that all students can fully experience the creativity, design thinking and personalised learning at the heart of our philosophy.
Our modern and very well-equipped campus was completed in 2014 and built specifically to support our educational offer. Our campus includes a double gymnasium that can accommodate 2 separate sports games at the same time, a 200+ seat theatre, dedicated music rooms with state of the art technology, a film department with the latest production equipment and fully equipped design and art studios to foster our students' love for the performing and creative arts.
After School
Beyond the classroom, your child will explore the wonders of the arts and the thrill of sport, learning to be creative, collaborative and to become a leader.
Our students are all given the opportunity to explore their passions, whether they are in sports, languages, technology, drama, music or art. Our clubs change regularly to allow children to try a number of activities during the school year and are intended to keep children active, interested and challenged.
