Use of technology in the classroom

Technology is integrated throughout our classrooms to enhance learning, engagement, and creativity. Most Pre-K classrooms are equipped with a projector or have access to one, while all Elementary and Middle School classrooms are fully outfitted with projectors for interactive instruction.

Elementary and Middle School students are also required to bring a personal computer, which allows them to access a variety of digital learning tools, including Khan Academy, Typing Club, Kahoot, Nearpod, and Micro:bit. These platforms support academic growth, creativity, and digital skills across subjects. Our goal is to use technology purposefully to prepare students for a connected and evolving world.

Learning support offered

While we do not have a dedicated special education department or specialized staff on-site, we do work closely with families to provide additional support when needed. In some cases, this includes the option of hiring a personal assistant to help a child navigate the school day with greater confidence and care. These assistants are arranged in collaboration with the family and offer individualized attention in the classroom.

However, it’s important to note that we are a general education setting and may not be equipped to meet the needs of students with more significant or complex learning or behavioral challenges. We always encourage an open dialogue with families to ensure that we can provide the right environment for each child to thrive.

The school supports gifted, able and talented students

We support gifted and advanced learners through leveled instruction, allowing students to progress at a pace that matches their abilities rather than being limited to grade-level expectations. English is leveled from Prekinder, and in Elementary and Middle School, students are grouped by level in both English and Math. This flexible structure helps ensure that each student is appropriately challenged and engaged in their learning.

Student access to education psychologist

While we rely on our teachers to provide for the well-being of our students, we understand that there are times when we must consult a professional. We care about the progress of our children, whether it is their emotional or physical progress. If an expert must be consulted, we have an on-call school counselor who can assist.

Entry evaluation for students

In some cases, during the application process, Learning Tree will request one or more of the following assessments:

● English speaking proficiency test
● English reading proficiency test
● Entrance exam (elementary program)

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

We believe in raising global citizens with a growth mindset. We are committed to fostering empathetic and responsible life-long learners who contribute to their local and global communities.

Teaching approach of the school

We feel that it is most important for a child to understand how special they are. We help them do this by showering them sincerely with love in the same way that we immerse them in English, in a safe and secure environment. We believe that this is the first step in helping them to recognize how precious their family, friends, teachers and the whole of nature are. We feel that by finding out about the customs and cultures of other countries and trying to understand and accept differences, they come to know the wonderfulness of their own country and also develop a global attitude. English is an essential part of this, providing a tool to express their feelings and thoughts. Throughout their education at learning tree, we want them to courageously engage in any situation while still enjoying themselves. By keeping a positive mind and remembering to be kind to others, we hope to further expand their endeavors and sustain their pure-hearted dreams. For these reasons, we maintain the following three principles:

1.) We want our students to have fun, because happiness is essential for everyone’s emotional well-being.

2.) We want our children to work hard now, so they can benefit in the future. Through this hard work, our children will be able to expand their windows of opportunities, which will allow them freedom in the future. Furthermore, we desire to equip them with the tools necessary to overcome the obstacles that they might face in life.

3.) Finally, we want the children to learn to become a part of the community. They should use their positive attitude and knowledge to impact other people’s lives. By helping others, the students will find joy and fulfillment. We hope that we can help our students create positive dreams for themselves and have the ability to make these dreams come true in our global community.
