Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

Located in lush, green surroundings, Holland International School (former Hollandse School Limited) provides an excellent Dutch and International (English) education. Holland International School is a safe and stress-free place where students are really seen. Children are encouraged to purposefully learn, play and collaborate. This proven Dutch-rooted approach to education creates an optimal learning environment, in which a child is happy to go to school and is empowered to achieve their best.*

*Research conducted by UNICEF shows that a non-competitive, low-stress school culture and learning in a playful way contributes to the recurring Dutch number 1 ranking of the happiest children in the world.

Teaching approach of the school

With over 100 years of educational experience in Singapore, Holland International School is well-known for delivering an excellent and tailored blend of the national and the International Primary Curriculum to children from the age of 2 to 12 at moderate fees.

Two learning streams, one approach
Classes at Holland International School are conducted in either Dutch or English. A mirrored learning experience is created by maintaining the international focus and offering a single, Dutch-rooted approach to education within both streams.

The Dutch Stream
Dutch national curriculum with an English language programme

The International Stream
English national curriculum with a Dutch language programme

Both streams provide education based on the three pillars, that we believe to be essential for preparing your child to make an impact in the future world:
• International Primary Curriculum (IPC), to promote an understanding of different perspectives, cultures and global awareness.
• 21st century skills, with hands-on learning opportunities to prepare students for a rapidly changing digital world
• Cooperative Learning to provide an opportunity to work in a group setting and develop social skills for collaboration and teamwork.

Our outstanding team of teachers delivers a highly personalised education for all students. With a maximum of 18 students per class in our Early Childhood programme to a maximum of 24 in our Primary classes, our teachers can tailor to the specific learning needs of each child.

Confident, happy and ready for its future
Choosing Holland International School not only establishes continuous learning that eases your child’s transition to any Dutch or International School. It also builds a solid foundation for an academically strong, confident and happy child that is ready for its future and adaptable for changes from a rooted starting point.
