Pre-Nursery. We conduct an informal interview with the parent (guardian).
Pre-School. We conduct an informal interview with the parent (guardian) and your child.
Primary school (Year2-Year6). We conduct an informal interview with your child. In case of doubts, the school may ask for providing school reports or perform an assessment.
Secondary school (Year7-Year10). Students will be assessed (online). Also, we conduct an informal interview with your child.
Upper Secondary – IGCSE (entry to Year11, also applicable for Year 13). Students will be assessed in all examination subjects. Also, we conduct an informal interview with the student.
Sixth Form – Cambridge International AS/A Levels (entry to Year 12). The students need their Secondary School Qualifications (e.g. their IGCSE certificate**)

We are proud to offer a broad and stimulating curriculum to all our students: from the Pre-Nursery, all the way through to the Cambridge International AS/A Levels, courses and careers programme in Years 12 and 13. We are exceptionally proud to be a leader at the forefront of curriculum development both in Spain and internationally. Our curriculum is firmly rooted in providing each child, at each stage in their development, with meaningful and innovative learning opportunities.
We fully understand that English is unlikely to be the first language of our pupils. Therefore, we closely monitor and develop our pupils’ English language skills, while also creating an immersive and fulfilling educational program, closely aligned with the English National Curriculum.
Campus
Thames British School Madrid has a 6,200 square meter a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility for the Early Years, Primary and Secondary Schools.
All classrooms are modern, bright and spacious, each containing an interactive whiteboard and fully resourced for the needs of our students. From Reception to Year 4 they have private bathrooms inside the classrooms.
The school also has very good outdoor facilities: football field with artificial grass, basketball court and Nursery with Reception, Year 1 with Year 2, and Year 3 with Year 4 have their own play areas attached to the classrooms.
