The Grammar School Limassol may previously have been considered a good private school. Today, unfortunately, it is a very bad choice for the following reasons:
1. The management of The Grammar School Limassol presents an image of providing an education which it simply does NOT provide. The personalized approach for all children does not exist! The Holistic education that one would expect from a modern private school is unfortunately not offered at The Grammar School Limassol. This means that there is NO emphasis on a balanced pedagogically sound approach that combines academic learning, with physical exercise, artistic expression, social interaction and intellectual development for ALL children in the school.
Other private schools and even many of the public schools significantly outperform The Grammar School Limassol in this area.
2. The Grammar school Limassol focus is the provision of preparation for the GCSEs . However the academic results of The Grammar School Limassol are clearly not better and are even inferior to other private schools and even reputable private tutoring schools that offer GCSE courses in the afternoons.
Here to mention that The Grammar School Limassol follows the older GCSE exam system, with the result that if a student needs to move for any reason and go to another private school, he will face significant difficulties in being accepted in the same year and continuing with the same courses.
3. Teaching staff: The school has academically qualified staff but probably due to the non-holistic approach to education that the school management follows the expected paedagogical approach at all times for all children is not evident.
6. Infrastructure - the building facilities of the school are comparable to other schools but not the best.
7. Traffic - Due to the location of the school, the transportation of students to and from school is a daily stress for all parents.
8. Fees - The school's tuition fees for 7 years are quite high so it's not good value for money compared to what one might get from another school.
Overall, based on my own experience as a parent The Grammar School Limassol is not a good choice.
