Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
Golden Oak Private School is a family-orientated and inclusive school environment; while the school sets high academic targets for its most able students, there is allowance made for students that are struggling in any way. Kinesthetic learning lays at the heart of the school's approach to the high-level Cambridge International Curriculum, which encourages the curiosity of the students in subjects like Science. The teachers apply multiple teaching styles and support the children on their academic journey in a loving way, as this is the type of environment children thrive best in. The biggest philosophy of the school is that happy learners turn into life-long learners and this is the central aim of the school: to create a passion for learning that will last the children a life-time. There is also a strong focus on personal and social development and student mental wellbeing, specifically in the early years, as this enables students to become self-confident, sociable and empathetic little future leaders. Teamwork is also promoted between parents and teachers for the general wellbeing and academic success of each child. |
Teaching approach of the school |
Multiple teaching styles are used in the classroom to appeal to all of the different learning styles the students may have - kinesthetic learning lays at the heart of the applied teaching styles. Montessori teaching philosophies are also used in terms of building student independence, self-awareness, personal-social development, respect of nature, and also in giving students the time they need to adapt to the targets set by the Cambridge Curriculum (as some learners may need a little more time than others in order to meet the same targets. Patience and good parent communication builds the necessary teamwork that is required to help each student thrive to the best of his/her abilities. |
