Qualities and characteristics best defining the school
|
The Independent School of Jakarta provides an exceptional education in Jakarta built on British heritage. Its Pondok Pinang campus provides world class facilities and opportunities for boys and girls aged two to thirteen years.
|
Teaching approach of the school
|
The school’s purpose is to provide children with a safe and friendly environment for children to grow and thrive, and to lay the foundations for success during their time at school, beyond at university and into their adult life.
|
Learning
Our wonderful Pre-Prep (nursery to Year 2) is a remarkable setting for your child’s educational journey to begin. Welcoming young children aged two to seven years, our purpose built facilities house a happy, warm and big hearted place where we help boys and girls to develop the building blocks for a lifelong love of learning.
In the Prep School our children take their learning to the next level, as they prepare for the academic rigour of Senior School. The curriculum continues to be very broad, designed to promote excellence and to give the children as many opportunities as possible to identify their strengths and expand their horizons; sports, music and the arts continue to flourish alongside other academic disciplines.
Our Campus
ISJ is located in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta about 20 minutes from the main office areas in the centre of the city. This is a leafy, cosmopolitan area dominated by residential housing.
Spaces are placed and arranged to allow children of different ages and interests to find their own space to explore with their peers, to concentrate on a task, or to find a quiet space to read a book. The campus swimming pool, football pitch, art, music and other facilities provide the venues for children to explore their interests.
Classrooms, the Pre-Prep, the library, the stem lab, the IT infrastructure are designed to ensure teachers have the space and resources, and flexibility to teach in a way that best meets the learning goals for that activity.
