Language support for students not fluent in English

ACE provides a specialist EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher to non-native English speaking students to ensure that they can access all areas of the curriculum to their full potential. EAL tuition is delivered through one-to-one lessons or small group sessions, specific to the requirements of each student. As students become more proficient in English, in-class support replaces individual sessions to ensure that key academic vocabulary specific to the curriculum is acquired and applied as necessary.

Dedicated staff/programs for students with special learning needs

Learning Support Team uses a wide variety of teaching methods to ensure that all students are engaged and supported in their learning. ACE delivers the curriculum using the best practices for teaching students with ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other learning challenges. One-to-one academic coaching is also available to help students develop individualised strategies for success.

Learning support offered

ACE's learning support team includes professionals in the field of coaching, speech and language therapy and physical/occupational therapy. A comprehensive profile of each child's learning challenges is compiled when your child joins the school or as soon as a child is seen to be struggling. The team then meets regularly to assess and monitor each child's progress. Regular communication between parents and everyone responsible for supporting your child ensures a cohesive plan is followed and that parents and your child are aware of their progress.
