Its aim is to support students in fully integrating into mainstream classes through gradual and structured language development. Through a comprehensive Language Development programme in Spanish and Catalan, students progress through clearly defined stages towards full classroom immersion. | Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
At European International School of Barcelona, we believe education is about much more than academic results – it is about helping each child grow into the best version of themselves. Founded in 1996 by a group of passionate educators led by the Herranz-Frías family, our school was created as a space where students could develop academically, personally and socially in a supportive and inspiring environment. We are an independent international school with a strong humanistic and ecological ethos and a clear commitment to educating responsible, curious and confident young people. Our educational project is constantly evolving and highly flexible allowing us to adapt learning to the needs, talents and interests of every student. With a community of around 1,500 students from more than 60 nationalities and guided by a stable and committed academic team our journey begins in Nursery and continues through to the second year of Baccalaureate. At this stage students can choose between the National Baccalaureate, the International Baccalaureate or the American High School Diploma opening doors to universities around the world. Modern facilities, extensive sports areas and a strong sense of community complete an educational experience designed to make the most of every student’s time with us and to prepare them not only for university but for life. |
| Teaching approach of the school |
We are an independent school with a strong commitment to human values, sustainability and internationalism. Our educational approach is dynamic and flexible, allowing us to offer personalised learning pathways that respond to each student’s needs and strengths. We aim to make the most of the time students spend learning by nurturing their talents, encouraging environmental awareness and valuing the unique contribution each individual can make. Through this approach, we seek to develop curious, empathetic and reflective students who are prepared to become lifelong learners and active members of an increasingly diverse and multicultural world. |
