I am so proud to be a parent of two children at BIS Abu Dhabi. All of the British teachers over the last 6 years have been so supportive and caring of my two, very different children. They have helped my son overcome his fears of reading, and my daughter has become so much more independent and confident. I know my children are enjoying a world-class education and are being pushed to be the best they can be. I love the warm community feel of the school and I think they must handpick their staff to reflect this. The communication is great, from the admin to the teachers to the class reps. There are so many ways of contacting the school and the teachers and there is always an event on to meet the teachers and other class parents. I would definitely recommend the school to parents looking for an engaging, warm and welcoming school.

My daughters have been attending BIS Abu Dhabi for the past three years, and I couldn’t be happier or more grateful that we chose this school for them. They settled in quickly, finding lovely friendship groups of like-minded friends. Coming directly from Australia, we found they were initially a bit behind academically. However, with the support of attentive and caring teachers and the strong system in place, they quickly caught up. Now, they’re doing exceptionally well, both on track to complete their IB diplomas and fully prepared for whatever they choose to do next.

We’ve been part of the BISAD community for two years now, and as a family that has lived in five different countries, I can say with confidence that this school has been the most nurturing and well-rounded environment our children have experienced.
The school is multicultural, our children have made friends from all over the world, and the diversity in the classroom exposed them to so many new cultures and new insights. There are over 90 nationalities in the school, and the sense of global community here is something we’ve never seen elsewhere.
From day one, communication has been clear and consistent. Between regular emails, the Parent App, Firefly, Microsoft Teams, and the school’s very active social media presence, we’ve always felt informed and included.

We’ve been part of the BIS Abu Dhabi community since 2019, when our two boys joined in Years 2 and 4. They’re now in Years 7 and 9 and absolutely thriving. When they started, they didn’t speak much English, but thanks to the incredible support from the EAL department and their teachers, they picked it up so quickly.

What matters most is that they’re genuinely happy to go to school every day, and we’ve seen fantastic academic and personal progress over the years. The co-curricular opportunities are a real highlight, too. Our youngest is loving being part of the swim and basketball teams, while our eldest really enjoys the Create and Build CCA and completed his Duke of Edinburgh Bronze level this year.

We’re so grateful to see our boys growing in such a supportive and enriching environment.

As a parent, I am beyond disappointed with the way this school operates. From the very beginning, the communication with parents has been shockingly poor. We receive little to no clear information on important academic procedures, school policies, or even basic day-to-day matters that every parent deserves to know about. You are left completely in the dark and expected to somehow figure things out on your own. On top of that, absolutely everything here comes at an extra cost. Every school event, every activity, every single resource nothing is included despite the fact that we already pay extremely high tuition fees. Even basic learning materials like textbooks, which should be provided by any decent educational institution, are not included. We were forced to pay around 300 AED just for the textbook alone. From our first school tour, four years ago, I was impressed by the school staff and facilities and continue to be so. There is a genuine warmth from all staff from the security staff to the Head of School. My kids have progressed academically in ways that far surpassed our expectations. The teachers are outstanding and are always willing to make time to discuss any concerns I may have. The British curriculum with the IB diploma in sixth form is the best of both worlds and will set my kids up for a great university spot and therefore, the best start to their chosen career.

This is an amazing school with world class teachers. The school is warm and inviting but still maintains high academic standard. My children have thrived at this school and are obtaining marks higher than they ever have at previous schools. The IB program is allowing my daughter to access university courses that she may not have been able to access with A levels. They have also had incredible sporting opportunities, not only representing the school but also trying new sports that they may not have tried before.

I love the fact that the school is large enough to offer a broad range of academic choices, extensive opportunities for students, yet maintains a warm, community feel. Teachers know the names of my children and their interests. I honestly feel like the staff at BISAD have the best intentions for my children. They will not accept mediocre efforts but will encourage and motivate my children to be the very best versions of themselves. I like the space the school has, the real grass that children can play on and the facilities are excellent.
