The history and traditions of Soong Ching Ling School (SCLS) are embedded in the strength and determination of Madame Soong Ching Ling (宋庆龄), the former Honorary President of China. SCLS was founded as a kindergarten in 1991 by the China Welfare Institute (中国福利会), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to carrying out Madame Soong Ching Ling’s educational philosophy of advancing knowledge and promoting learning across cultures.
Built on the motto “Giving children the most valuable things”, SCLSID is committed to excellence in education; it strives to fulfil the unique potential of each student in a supportive and challenging holistic learning environment that prepares him or her for continuing education and an active and responsible role in a multicultural world.
Located on 36 acres of lush green land surrounded by mature trees, beautifully maintained gardens and 3 working canals, SCLS is considered 1 campus with two divisions: Domestic Division (CEEB: 694110) and an International Division (CEEB: 694073). In 2008 the primary schools of each division were established, in 2012 the middle schools of each division were established, and in 2017 the high schools of each division were established.
