Our daughter has just started her first few months at Ikast - Brande International School in Year 5, and our impressions so far are absolutely fantastic. The school not only focuses on the main subjects but also emphasizes life skills, which we believe are incredibly important for a growing child.
The school provides excellent support for children who may be struggling with language or other subjects, and there is a strong culture of respect, with zero tolerance for bullying. Policies around phone use are also, in our opinion, fantastic.
Children wear comfortable uniforms, which helps them feel equal and confident, and saves parents the worry about what their child should wear. We also really appreciate the constant flow of information—weekly newsletters with important updates, and communication with teachers and administration is very easy and smooth, both by phone and through the school’s system.
Our daughter made friends on her very first day and comes home excited and happy every day. Even though she has only been here a few months, we already feel that choosing this school was one of the best decisions for her growth and happiness!
We understand that not every family may see the value in paying for education when the Danish system offers free schooling, but this school is worth every cent for what it gives back to the children in terms of support, skills, and overall development.
