‡ This fee acts as a deposit which is returned if all accounts have been settled in full, all school property has been returned, and a required notice has been given. This deposit is normally not refundable in the case of application withdrawal.
∴ Debenture is a fee required by many international schools in Hong Kong to be paid on behalf of the student before or at the time of admission into the school. Purchase of debenture usually provides priority on waiting lists. The debenture is used by the school to cover capital and other costs, at its discretion. The debenture is always non-interest bearing, and is usually refunded when the child withdraws or graduates from school. The refund value is sometimes depreciated.
