Teaching approach of the school
|
The goal of every classroom is to create a safe, fair, and consistent environment challenging students to become reflective risk-takers that aspire to take responsibility for their own learning. Courses are based on American content standards (CCSS, Next Gen, AERO, NCAS). Units of study are planned backwards utilizing the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework. Relevant, meaningful summative assessments are developed to provide every learner with the opportunity to demonstrate understanding. Learning plans are focused on developing the transfer skills inherent to all content and providing engaging activities founded on creating creative, collaborative, critical thinkers capable of making informed decisions.
