Our Core Values
Words which are not just hung on the wall, but are alive in the classroom.
Campus
Situated along a tributary of the Nha Be River and within easy walking distance to the many shops, cafes and restaurants, the school enjoys all the conveniences of being located in the urban center of Phu My Hung. Although only twenty minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City, this vibrant planned residential community has clean air and river breezes, wide streets and ample sidewalks, making it an ideal setting for families to live and children to go to school.
STEM
SSIS ensures that its students are continuously provided the best STEM opportunities—even if they aren't yet available in Ho Chi Minh City. For example, we were the first school to bring VEX Robotics to Vietnam.
Our teachers are highly trained in promoting and incorporating design-thinking into our curriculum. Students of all ages are actively encouraged to apply design-thinking in one of our three maker-spaces, available from Kindergarten and through Grade 12.
The Arts
Our Arts program encourages students to develop their creativity through multiple disciplines. We offer drama, band, orchestra, visual arts and dance. Students are encouraged to explore various processes and traditions from different cultures and throughout history. Excursions and visiting artists offer students a chance to appreciate the arts and learn from practicing artists and crafts people. Students have further opportunity to participate in the varied extra-curricular art activities that are offered throughout the elementary, middle and high schools.
Athletics
Our athletics program seeks to instill in students a respect for elements of fitness and skill that are integral to developing a lifelong interest in sports and fitness. The ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and a demonstration of respect for the efforts of team members, opponents, coaches and officials are expected from all Dragons.
