Dedicated staff/programs for students with special learning needs

The Student Services Department includes school counselors, learning specialists and a reading specialist. There are no specialized programs to support children with special learning needs.

Learning support offered

When a student is in need of academic, social or emotional support, the specialists of the Student Services Department facilitate cooperation between the student, teachers, families, and, if necessary, outside specialists–including for diagnostic testing and long-term counseling–in order to develop and implement the appropriate plans for the student to thrive.

The school supports gifted, able and talented students

At the LFC, teachers adapt lessons to maximize the full potential of each student. They focus on identifying individual learning profiles and pathways to success for each student. The aim is not to have students of different abilities achieve different objectives, but to enable all students to attain the same objectives by different routes. In high school, students can customize their own paths, including the choice of multiple levels of math, science, language, social science and arts.
