Use of technology in the classroom

We use technology in a purposeful and age-appropriate way to enrich learning and help students build important 21st-century skills. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive boards and the laptops are being used for project work.

Hand in hand with this, we place strong emphasis on digital citizenship. Through an EU-supported project, we have developed our own digital citizenship curriculum, helping students use technology responsibly, thoughtfully, and with awareness of its impact on themselves and others. We have also shared our approach in international professional spaces, including UNESCO’s Digital Learning Week and the Council of Europe’s Digital Citizenship Education Forum, reflecting our commitment to thoughtful and forward-looking educational practice.

Is the school ready to use virtual classrooms when needed? (e.g. teaching lessons online during emergencies)

We are experienced and well-prepared for online education. Upon registration, our students are equipped with personal online accounts where they are able to receive classwork and homework, communicate with their teachers, and have the necessary access for integrative and holistic online education.
We also use digital tools to open up learning beyond the classroom. Through online workshops, guest speakers, and shared projects with students in other parts of the world, children can connect, collaborate, and take part in meaningful service and exchange activities. We also offer digital instrumental lessons online when needed. This also allows us to support each child’s learning and sense of connection during longer illness or other circumstances that may require a more personalised approach.

Do students practice religion at the school? What religion?

No. Students do not practise religion at school, but they do learn about different religions and cultures of the world as part of the curriculum. We celebrate the religious festivals represented in our community, with the aim of fostering inclusion, respect, and an appreciation for the beauty of diversity.
