Over the last few years, the words "Forest School" have become a popular way for playgroups to promote nature-based learning environments. However, Rugby School Thailand is currently the first and only accredited 'Forest School' in Thailand.
Rugby School Thailand has been awarded Archimedes Forest Schools 'Development Centre Status', meaning our School meets internationally recognised standards and our Pre-Prep teachers have the depth of knowledge from official training.
Forest School is distinctive for its long-term impact on children. It offers a structured, child-centred approach to learning that takes place in a natural environment and unfolds over time. Led by trained practitioners, sessions are carefully designed to nurture confidence, resilience, independence and creativity. Children are encouraged to explore, collaborate, solve problems and take supported risks - whether that's building shelters, creating potions or simply jumping in muddy puddles.
More than simply outdoor play, regular sessions allow children to develop perseverance, teamwork and emotional wellbeing in ways that traditional classroom settings cannot always replicate. The focus is on the learning process rather than a prescribed outcome, empowering every child to succeed in their own way.
We're really proud to have developed a corner of our 80-acre campus into a beautiful, official "Forest School", so this valuable way of learning can be embedded into our curriculum, supporting our students to grow both academically and personally.
