BIS Abu Dhabi Reaffirms Excellence with Renewed ADEK Outstanding Rating
The British International School Abu Dhabi has once again secured an Outstanding rating in the 2025/26 ADEK Irtiqaa inspection, continuing a journey of excellence first recognised in 2021. This renewed rating, which now remains in place until the next inspection cycle, positions the school among a select group in Abu Dhabi consistently delivering exceptional outcomes for students.
According to ADEK’s findings, BIS Abu Dhabi demonstrates Outstanding performance across almost every key area of evaluation. Inspectors highlighted the school’s high levels of academic achievement in English‑language subjects, noting that students progress rapidly and are able to apply complex reasoning, analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills confidently across their studies. Learning skills were also rated Outstanding, with students showing strong independence, collaboration and focus in lessons.
The report emphasised the school’s inclusive teaching practices, recognising the high‑quality support offered to students of determination as well as those needing additional stretch. Lessons are well structured, adaptive and aligned with clear learning objectives. ADEK also highlighted the school’s high‑quality curriculum pathways, including IGCSE, the IB Diploma Programme and BTEC, which provide opportunities for personalised learning and preparation for university and future careers.
Beyond academics, the inspection praised BIS Abu Dhabi’s exceptional personal development culture. Students demonstrate maturity, responsible behaviour and genuine commitment to community and service initiatives, reflecting a strong values‑based ethos. Safeguarding and wellbeing systems were described as “exceptionally safe and inclusive,” supported by a strong pastoral network and highly effective care structures.
Leadership at the school was also recognised as a driving force behind its success. ADEK noted the school’s clear vision, strategic focus on continuous improvement and strong engagement with parents and external partners. Areas highlighted for further development, including strengthening Arabic‑language subjects and refining assessment consistency, align with the school’s ongoing improvement priorities.
