I think the administration is great and they’re truly the best part of Greengates. When there is an issue, administration does their best to mitigate negative impacts and fix the problem — or at least make it go away.
The facilities are fine. I guess compared to schools in Mexico, they’re good. I don’t find them to be very special and have seen plenty of public schools in the USA and Canada with better facilities. But the grounds are nice and they are not lacking in nice spaces.
The teachers are okay. They are like most other private schools in Mexico — perhaps they have a masters degree in their teaching area, but they were not educated as teachers. This leaves some room for improvement in the pedagogy, specifically when it comes to students who deviate in any way from the expected norm.
They need to improve on their knowledge of disabilities and differences in children. More than twice, we had to demand the administration educate their teachers about minor social differences our child had. The administration is knowledgeable and most teachers are willing to learn and adapt. One Spanish teacher has struggled to amend anything about his approach, and that’s caused my child to learn less Spanish from him because my child is always anxious in his class. Teachers shouldn’t be causing anxiety. Anxiety means students learn less. Flexibility as a teacher is an important skill.
The worst part about Greengates is the truly some of the other parents. The entitlement we have seen is awful. During an important lecture about the IB program, one woman was asked to be quiet by another parent because she was so loud those around her couldn’t hear the lecture. We watched her type into her translator app, “If you don’t like it, you can move.” At the last minute, she decided against it but never stopped loudly talking.
That seems to be the theme. Parents are required to keep an eye on their children’s online presence by the school, but they obviously do not. Cyber-bullying runs rampant. Homophobia and antisemitism have been the choice bullying subjects secondary. Sexual harassment from children of the same gender as my child also happened.
When the administration is made aware, they act quickly. However, they usually must intervene with the same family repeatedly to get children to actually stop. That’s what I mean about the parents — they obviously are teaching their children entitled behavior and are completely failing them when it comes to the internet. It’s clear that many boys are being subjected to so much “red-pill” Andrew Tate-type content online that it truly influences how they think and behave.
We truly do appreciate the efforts the administration at Greengates makes. However, since Greengates parents refuse to teach their children media literacy, this is an area that Greengates really needs to step up. It’s clear that their students are chronically online — especially the boys. If Greengates doesn’t improve on this, they’ll never manage to get appropriate behavior out of their students when there is a lack of supervision. These children are being failed by their parents and Greengates needs to step in and pick up the slack. Otherwise, they’re just helping to give the world entitled, dangerous young men.

During the last 18 months the school has had a completely new leadership team. Communication has improved and continues to do so. The school has started sharing details of exciting development plans for the coming years. Being a part of the Nord Anglia group has been a positive step for the school and it looks set to continue.
Teachers are wonderful and the children love attending school everyday. The academic standards are excellent overall. An amazing experience for my family.

Amazing school. Great funding, and superb education. Many facilities like football, volleyball, basketball, and even American football fields, as well as highly trained teachers, who clearly know what they're doing. As a student, I can say that despite some of its worse qualities, Greengates school is an amazing institution which lets students express themselves, and let them be themselves with other people who understand them. They can start their own extracurricular's, take part in ones which they enjoy, or even just have a nice movie night or chat about anime with their friends in an extracurricular. Although they are a bit stingy with the free amenities, it is a great experience and so far, the best I've had in my 18 years of life.

The school administration is awful. School communications are awful. Very uncaring towards students as evidenced by the lack of kindness shown to this year’s graduating class. The class of 2020 received a congratulatory letter on their graduation day at 10:00 in the evening, only after having received many complaints by the parents of the graduates.
