We assess each child's level upon enrolment to ensure proper placement. |
| The school supports gifted, able and talented students |
Through our personalised digital learning platforms (Khan Academy, IXL, AI tutors), gifted students can progress ahead of their age group at their own pace. Project-based learning also allows advanced students to explore topics in greater depth and complexity. Teachers set individual goals for each student based on their strengths and motivation. |

Yes, we assess each child's English level and overall readiness before enrolment to ensure proper class placement. |
| Brief description of entry evaluation required |
We conduct an informal assessment of the child's English language skills and academic level. This helps us place the student in the most appropriate class (Earth, Water, Sky, or Fire) based on their age and ability. It is not a pass/fail exam — it is designed to understand the child's needs so we can best support them. |
| Waiting list |
Not currently, but spaces are limited to 16 students per class. We recommend applying early to secure a place. |

| Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
AIM School is an international, values-based school in Mijas, Costa del Sol, for children aged 3 to 14. We are IPA and IMYC internationally accredited, delivering a world-class curriculum recognised in over 90 countries. With a maximum of 16 students per class, we offer truly personalised learning in a safe, nurturing environment surrounded by nature. Our community is built on compassion, curiosity, innovation, and global citizenship. We nurture the whole child — academically, socially, and emotionally — preparing them not just for exams but for life. We are home to families from over 15 nationalities, creating a warm and diverse international community on the Costa del Sol. AIM School includes Mini AIM (ages 3-6), a nursery and kindergarten following a nature-inspired, child-centred Scandinavian philosophy, and AIM School (ages 6-14) with four class groups: Earth, Water, Sky, and Fire. Every child at AIM is insured, and we offer home-made meals from our in-house chef, after-school activities, and a strong parent community. |
| Teaching approach of the school |
Our teaching approach combines strong academic foundations with social-emotional intelligence, creative and critical thinking, and project-based learning. We use a hybrid model that blends personalised digital platforms (Khan Academy, IXL, AI-supported tutors) with traditional methods such as books, group work, reading, and writing. Project learning is central to our curriculum. Each project runs for approximately six weeks and integrates multiple subjects — languages, science, maths, arts, history, and media — around a theme relevant to students' lives. Projects require students to research, think, write, analyse, design, collaborate, and present their work, often culminating in a presentation for parents. We place great emphasis on physical wellbeing through daily sport and movement including yoga, meditation, football, padel, and dance. Our approach starts from where each student is, building on their strengths, personal goals, and motivation, while celebrating their progress every step of the way. |
