Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

The school offers a full educational program based on an American curriculum for students from ages 3 to pre-university and is affiliated with the Ministry of Education and is subject to the rules and regulations laid down for private school in UAE. Students from grades 5 to 12 are segregated according to gender.

The mission of Sharjah American International Schools is to provide a Western education within a context that respects local traditions, to encourage academic excellence, to implement inclusive learning environment that accepts students of all ability levels and provides for their needs, and to build personalities that embrace 21st century learning skills and show interest in the important issues of the global community.

Teaching approach of the school

The curriculum aims to develop a range of learning skills where students are expected to take a role in their own learning to reach a greater understanding of various concepts.
Learners strive to become inquirers, risk-takers, and reflective thinkers. Students develop their natural curiosity and they learn the necessary skills to conduct experiments in sciences. They explore new concepts, ideas, and issues about the world around them. They approach unfamiliar situations with courage and open-mindedness. Furthermore, they learn to show respect towards the needs and feelings of others. After all, they learn to apply thinking skills of the 21st century learning creatively and critically.
