Learning support offered

French School of Buharest, Anna de Noailles, has an “Inclusion Pole” to promote the schooling of students with special educational needs. All aids are focused on the specific needs of the student and his learning process, as well as his emotional well-being.
When they need it, students can benefit from FLESco courses (language of school instruction) to strengthen their mastery of the French language.
There is also support at the primary school with a teacher who intervenes with the teacher in the class to help students in difficulty or students can periodically receive break-out support from special teacher in small groups.
At the secondary, an assistant also helps students who need it individually outside the classroom.
There are also different forms of special needs support. The main ones are accommodations, modifications, and remediations.
Accommodations are a type of support that removes obstacles to learning. They concern how kids learn, not what they learn. They’re normally provided to students who have a specific learning trouble (like dyslexia, dysgraphy, ADHD, etc) and specified by an Individual Education Plan.
Students with disabilities, physical or cognitive, can be accompanied by an adult who facilitates their schooling and their daily life.
In addition to providing the right environment and form of support, the School support students in other ways, helping special needs students cope and excel, both in and outside of school.
A school psychologist is thus present within the school. Its role is to act in favor of the psychological well-being and socialization of students, but also to participate in the prevention of the risks of disinvestment or school break.
