Teaching approach of the school
|
D'Overbroeck's treats every student as an individual. Immersed in an education as unique as they are, your child will discover their talents, follow their passions, and become a confident, independent learner.
Delivered across three main campus sites, its progressive approach carefully blends the highest British academic standards with an emphasis on fun, self-expression, and exhilarating learning experiences. d'Overbroeck's relaxed and inclusive environment is a place where every student can truly be themselves, too.
Combined, this lays the foundations for your child to achieve more than they ever thought possible, including impressive GCSE and A-level results that open doors to the UK’s top universities.
At d'Overbroeck's International, the school offers a choice of five programmes, which have been carefully curated to meet the individual needs, entry points, and backgrounds of our overseas students.
|
International School | Ages 13 to 16
Offering choice, the highest teaching standards, and exceptional English as an Additional Language support, d'Overbroeck's International is the perfect introduction to the British education system. Alongside a traditional two-year IGCSE programme, we offer four flexible options: the one-year IGCSE, 4 or 5-term IGCSE, UK Study Abroad, and The Discovery Years. In an academically challenging yet nurturing environment, our students’ individual talents flourish.
Flexibility is at the heart of each pathway. This ensures high-performing students are stretched and challenged at the right level, and every child receives the support they need. It also means we can tailor learning to the individual – for example, if a student plans to return to their home country’s education system after studying at d’Overbroeck’s.
Senior School | Ages 11 to 16
One of the leading independent secondary schools in England, we offer a challenging and engaging Years 7-11 curriculum that stretches our students academically and personally. At Key Stage 4, your child will specialise in their chosen GCSE subjects, creating their own pathway to Sixth Form, university, and beyond.
In a relaxed yet ambitious environment, subject specialists deliver a broad academic programme that encourages our students to be curious, think outside the box, and push the boundaries. Challenging, engaging, and packed with outstanding learning experiences, our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curriculum provide a balanced education that prepares our students for A-levels.
Sixth Form | Ages 16 to 18
At d’Overbroeck’s Sixth Form school in Oxford, we offer an unparalleled choice of 37 A-level subjects. These can be studied in any combination, enabling each student to follow the pathway that best suits their talents, passions, and aspirations. Your child will also benefit from our Sixth Form academic enrichment programme, extraordinary clubs and activities, and exceptional pastoral care.
In Sixth Form at d’Overbroeck’s, Oxford, our students delve deeper into their chosen subjects. As they prepare for university – and start thinking about careers – they become specialists in their fields, typically studying for three or four A-levels.
Your child can also follow the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is the equivalent to half an A-level. This gives them the chance to specialise in a topic or area they’re passionate about.
