We joined the Swedish School in London approximately two years ago, with one child in preschool and another in primary school. Relocating to a new country can be both daunting and exciting, particularly for families with young children. However, from our very first day at the school, we immediately felt at home. The students, staff, and parent community were incredibly welcoming, and both our children – as well as we as parents – quickly formed meaningful connections.
Over the past two years, we have been consistently impressed by the dedication and professionalism of the teachers and educators. They provide a nurturing environment while also challenging our children in a way that supports their development and growth. The school also demonstrates strong communication and transparency. Information is shared clearly and regularly, and any questions are always met with openness and support.
We can wholeheartedly recommend the Swedish School in London.

Our experience with the Swedish school has been nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were welcomed into a warm, inclusive, and intellectually vibrant community that truly puts students first.
The faculty and staff are not only highly qualified and passionate about their work, but they also go above and beyond to ensure that each student is seen, supported, and challenged to grow. The dedication to academic excellence is clear, yet it’s matched by an equally strong emphasis on character development, creativity, and critical thinking.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Swedish school is how it balances tradition with innovation. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, blending foundational skills with forward-thinking approaches that prepare students for the real world. Technology is used meaningfully, not just as a tool, but as a w... read full review

The Swedish School in London is an outstanding school that combines the best of Swedish education with a truly international atmosphere.
Despite being a Swedish school, it has families from all over the world, creating a diverse and vibrant community.
The small class sizes allow for personalized attention, and the quality of teaching is excellent—teachers are knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely invested in students’ growth.
While no school is perfect and there is always room for improvement, the Swedish School is a safe and nurturing environment where my children feel supported and cared for.
The school community feels like a big family, and it’s wonderful to see students thrive academically, socially, and personally.
I highly recommend the Swedish School to anyone seeking a high-quality, welcoming, and internationally minded educational experience.

The Swedish School in London has some positive aspects, but unfortunately my overall experience has been disappointing.
The leadership's focus is only on cutting costs and making things easier for teachers and administration. Parents’ feedback is not genuinely taken on board, and there is little to no response or accountability when concerns are raised.
I have also met other Swedish families who enrolled their children here but eventually moved them to local schools, citing similar frustrations. This signals the problems are long-standing rather than recent, with no effort made to address, acknowledge or attempt to improve, contributing to a steady flow of families leaving the school.
The school does offer Swedish language and cultural traditions, but suffers from poor leadership, weak communication, and a contradictory "child-led" approach in theory but in practice all ver... read full review

I’ve had my son at the Swedish School for six years and he is thriving.
I am particlarly happy with the small class sizes which provide opportunity for excellent student/teacher interaction and that several classes (beyond English), such as PE, Music and Craft, are in English with native English speakers.
I love the many interactions the children have across all age groups. Whether it is teaming up for Kick Off Day, semmelrace, Lucia or the Spring Show, they get to know each other outside their year groups which benefits them all.
Despite being a picky eater, there are lots of thumbs up when I ask about lunch. Gunnar who cooks for the children is a superhero in the kitchen!
I think SSL is a wonderful school.

I have been educating my three children at the Swedish School in London for 13 years so far (at Barnes ages 3-16 and Kew ages 16-19) and it is a truly wonderful school. The last three Ofsted rankings have been OUTSTANDING and the academic results are incredible. Plus the class sizes are small, the teachers are engaged, the school community is involved and the children become bilingual and have amazing social skills. The new management team works so hard and puts the children's wellbeing and education first. I would recommend this school to any parent with a child who has a Nordic connection (eg parent or grandparent) as you will end up with a well rounded child academically, socially and culturally.

Poor leadership
Not listening to parents’ feedback
Everything optimised for teachers and making their lives easier, the children and their education is not their primary focus
