We support a variety of needs, such as cognition and learning, communication and interaction, social and mental health needs, sensory and physical, but the school is equipped to deal only with relatively mild conditions.

At Haileybury Astana we are committed to meeting the educational needs of all our pupils by providing an environment which encourages pupils to maximise their potential and develop their talents and abilities to the full. In providing for our more able students we aim to:

- Provide an environment for the most able learners to be challenged, to test their limits and be able to accommodate both success and failure in a climate of support;

- Enable pupils to access learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom which will further stimulate their creativity and passion for learning;

Each year teachers identify and update an able, gifted and talented register of pupils who show a particular ability, gift or talent within their curriculum area or across a range of skills.

We liaise with external agencies in Kazakhstan (speech therapists, neurologists, psychologists) and Educational Psychologist in the UK.

All students are assessed.

Age dependent. In kindergarten assessment is based on readiness. In Junior school they are assessed on age specific abilities including maths and English, In Senior school also assessed with Cat4.

A wide range of activities are available encompassing sports, karate and swimming, the arts, chess, clay modelling, languages, International Award, Eco-warriors, study skills, public speaking, to name but a few.

Our school competes against other schools in Nur-Sultan (COASH) in football, basketball, swimming and athletics. We also compete in the COBIS junior and senior games.
