A primary school should provide toilet paper in the bathrooms... but this seems to be an expense the school doesn't think is important. Along with supplies for the classrooms... the teachers have to buy their own! An eighty year old runs the school and does not know how to deal with bullying when it occurs between the children, or when it occurs between staff members. Many excellent teachers have resigned because of the disastrous school management. Bullying occurs from the top down. There are some very good teachers but the smug British teachers do not even make an effort to pronounce your child's name correctly. The Deputy Head Teacher even said it was not his job to make sure my son (in Reception!) ate the food in his lunch box at break time, after I told him I was concerned that every day my son was coming home having not eaten anything. Teachers do not seem to care whether the children have their full 10 minutes of "eating" time and often the children are sent out to play without having had an opportunity to eat.
The teachers are not supervised, the school is not accredited. They do whatever they want so it's luck of the draw if you get a good teacher who ensures learning occurs. The rest are just there to eat their lunch and do as little as possible.
Communication from the School to Parents is a disaster. There are parent whatsapp groups rife with complaints because the communication is so poor. The standard of anything sent out from the school has dropped dramatically in the past year, I don't know what changed but the school is not what it was.

This used to be a warm traditional school, a true home. Older teachers & support staff who paid great attention to the pupils & parents. It continues to have lovely pupils, parents & teachers, but the influence of teachers who had the original RFS ethos has been lost. A good school is not about a flashy building that planners did not regard as a community. The corridor could house a jumbo jet, the classrooms are down rabbit holes. Endless top notch facilities that are inappropriate for primary children, the youngest in particular, or are underused. Creative teachers, that includes the PE department (full of excellent ideas), are crippled by the school’s layout. Any management team would struggle to pull everyone together. With a corridor that size people need to communicate by semaphore. But with a clear vision and a staff who had the morale, support & team spirit to comm... read full review

Muscat is home to many great schools following the British Curriculum. Royal Flight Intl School is unfortunately not one of them. While some of the staff are considerate, others are quite rude. The school is not providing any unique experience to students that other international schools are not so I am not sure why they are so high up on their horse. If you have two children you have to put both in the school otherwise they won't just enroll one of them. They conduct anxiety inducing formal assessments on children as young as 5, despite a whole lot of research findings against them. They are known to not align their practices with the local customs and there have even been instances where they recommended that a child get major surgery done so he could pronounce the words in a more British accent. If after after reading all this you still choose RF for your children, go for it, ... read full review
