We were looking for a school for our daughter A-Levels studies and visited Leiria Internacional school. At the meeting with staff at the reception we explained all Emily’s IEP grades and were told that those were ok and that we should register online. Which we did. The problem is that there is a non refundable registration fee of Eur 175.00. We paid this fee, posted all documents online and scheduled a meeting with admissions to finalise the process.
On the day of the meeting we met a person who apparently had been in leave of some sort and had just returned to the school. He told us that he did not have much information on Emily’s case and on the spot told us that she had to retake one IGCSE year as her IEP documents were not acceptable by the Portuguese Gov.
We felt misguided by the staff's advice to persue the online registration and the payment of Eur 175.00 which the school refuses to refund.
We are glad we did not continue the experience with this school as they seem incompetent and unthrustworthy.

This is the only English school in the region so sometimes there is no choice if you don't want your kid to learn Portuguese but
- School clearly separates "rich" from their perspective kids and others. You will always notice that some kids are picked up by school stuff from parking lot and others are ignored.
- Detentions it's comical how even students know that there are untouchable kids and "others" and teachers are afraid of "rich" kids because there can be potentially consequences
- Quality of teachers, they change almost every year, and the quality is very bad. It shows if you take average score of exams which I think is average in Portugal (for private school this is not good)
- It's easy for them to make mistakes and not correct it for weeks and just ignore your calls
- Food - while not that expensive (120 euro per month) the kids don't have a choice and quite often just ... read full review

We’ve had an incredibly positive experience with our child’s school. The dedicated and caring teachers go above and beyond to support each student. The curriculum is engaging and well-rounded, focusing on both academics and essential life skills. The sense of community and inclusivity creates a welcoming environment for all families. Our child is excited to go to school every day, which says a lot about the nurturing atmosphere and excellent education provided. Also, the new campus facilities are amazing, adding to the overall great experience. We highly recommend this school to other families.
