Teachers are either native or the language they teach in is their best language; most teachers have a complex linguistic background (multi-ethnic/ multilingual). As the school is recognized the the German Ministry of Education, tenured German teachers are detached temporarily to our school (for up to 2 years).

No. All teachers are qualified to teach their subject (all teachers hols a B.A. or B.Sc; at least 50% also hold an M.A. or M.Sc, 25% hold a PH.D. or equivalent: Teacher Certification 1st Degree), hold a valid teaching certificate, and are IB trained. Teachers may share a class yet all are class teachers, not teaching assistants.

Every classroom is equipped with IBoards / smart boards; the school places great importance on making use of IT resources on a daily basis. Class and home assignments aim to support students' development of IT and media literacy skills; ICT and Computer Science (including robotics) play a crucial role

Within 5 days from school closure in March 2020, all teachers had been trained in the use of Zoom and GSuite for Education. All lessons were held in accordance with the original time table. All students attended synchronous virtual lessons; students who did not have proper access to technology were provided complimentary necessary equipment before virtual lessons began; even after schools were re-opened, students were still allowed to attend lessons online, in hybrid more (most students were in the classroom, those who could not be physically present attended via zoom)

Yes, usually over the weekend and in manageable amounts. Primary school students do homework under their class teacher's supervision, in the second part of the day, so as to learn how to best organize their time, and, ultimately, to learn how to learn.

Students are evaluated in order to determine their needs (learning specifics, language needs, etc.). Support staff work directly with students and class teachers to ensure students are best catered to. Teachers implement differentiation within regular classes, and offer extra classes so as to best accommodate students learning needs and styles. Students who need academic support (temporary or long-term) are offered one-to-one classes or in small groups.

Differentiation is implemented within regular teaching; separate one-to-one lessons are also offered.

Yes. The school psychologist is present daily on campus, for both scheduled and unscheduled counselling.

Diagnostic tests are used to determine the areas in which students need support. This does not impact their eligibility.

Languages and math are tested to ensure students receive proper support.
