Qualities and characteristics best defining the school |
Established in 1999, Rosemount International School (formerly Rosemount Kindergarten) is a private international school in Singapore providing schooling at the preparatory (kindergarten) and junior school (primary) levels. Presently Rosemount has five levels of learning - Prep 1,2,3 & Grade 1 & 2. Rosemount International School’s programs are centered on the premises of instilling a life-long love of learning in every student and nurturing within every child a sense of self-esteem, personal integrity, and a respectful, caring attitude towards others. Rosemount believes that each of its students is a unique individual with equal potential to make a positive contribution to our school and society. |
Teaching approach of the school |
Rosemount's curriculum is built on an inquiry-based philosophy in which students are encouraged to question, discover and communicate through an interdisciplinary and integrated approach to learning. It is designed to support a developmental, student-centered approach, where teaching for understanding is coupled with a stimulating and varied curriculum.
All learning activities are planned to provide meaningful and purposeful outcomes and are constantly monitored and assessed. Teachers use a variety of assessment techniques including testing for knowledge and skills, observations, portfolios of children’s work and analysis of book, project and practical work. Attitude, learning skills, social relationships and effort are considered equally important when looking at the overall development of the child. Detailed descriptive reports are given to parents two times a year and parent/teacher conferences are also held to discuss each child’s social and academic progress. |
