Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

EtonHouse Korea currently operates four schools in Seoul and its suburbs. All four schools attract pupils from the expatriate and Korean communities celebrating diversity and offering a distinctive international education.

EtonHouse Prep (EHPS), in Hannam-Dong, central Seoul, is a co-educational British Preparatory School for children from 2-13 years of age. EHPS offers a uniquely broad curriculum based closely on the British Preparatory School system, which follows the English National curriculum framework, and is also complimented by the International Primary Curriculum.

The two well established kindergartens in Bundang and Dongtan, and EtonHouse Lodge which opened in 2015, is where young children enjoy high quality inquiry based learning planned around a series of ‘learning provocations’ created to encourage curiosity and promote dialogue and interaction. Their learning journey is based around the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which enables maximum choice and variety for children with diverse learning needs and interests. The learning environments celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity and empower students to become confident, enthusiastic learners.

Teaching approach of the school

Education is about so much more than imparting knowledge – it’s about building character, developing critical thinking and empowering individuals. The curriculum allows children breadth and depth through an international approach that builds on expertise in early childhood education. The aim is to help each child reach their full potential – academically, socially, emotionally and physically.

The schools are professional learning environments – for staff and parents as well as children. The teachers are professional, fun and inspiring people. They work to cultivate the partnership between school and home to develop a common goal: empowering each child to be a confident and happy learner who strives to make the most of every opportunity.

In short, the aim is to build the solid foundations in every child necessary for a successful happy life; developing kind, honest and courageous young people who approach the world with integrity and responsibility.
