Graded teachers and learners may use personal or school-owned devices to access the high-speed wireless network, enabling them to be self-directed, responsible and adaptable participants in our digital society. All classrooms are furnished with audio and visual presentation systems, network access, education software and various other applicable resources, encouraging the appropriate integration of teaching and learning technologies. Graded uses reliable and efficient web-based software applications, such as GoogleApps, to provide anytime-anywhere interaction between students, teachers and parents. Graded offers an equipment check-out system and an array of collaborative and specialized learning spaces equipped with graphical and digital design software, 3D printers and music/audio recording systems to broaden its students’ experiences and support the discovery of new uses for technology. Support and training on all of school's digital tools and resources is offered on an as-needed basis to maintain and strengthen our community's skills.

Optimal Learning Center program

Learning support offered

The Optimal Learning Center (OLC) supports students with identified learning differences, empowering them to become confident, autonomous learners who meet or exceed grade level standards. Learning specialists in the OLC collaborate and consult with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders in the community to provide individual, small group, and classroom level interventions. These include strategies within daily routines, classroom structures, and curricular activities.

Student access to education psychologist

By working with parents and faculty, the school psychologist, guides caregivers regarding learning-related matters. The primary role of our school psychologist is to support students who may not be performing to grade level expectations and/or are experiencing learning difficulties. This support can include any of the following: academic screening, observation of the student in different learning environments, meetings with parents and teachers regarding recommendations to help the student, consultation regarding strategies and modifications, discussion of student work and referrals for external diagnostics and services.

Founded in 1920 by the American Chamber of Commerce, Graded School is a private, co-educational, non-sectarian, nonprofit day school from Pre-Primary to Grade 12. The school follows an American curriculum with instruction in English. The Lower School consists of the Montessori Preprimary program (three years old through Kindergarten) and the Elementary (grades 1 -5). The Middle School runs from grades 6 to 8. The High School program prepares students for admission to competitive universities and all graduates receive an American High School diploma. Students also have the opportunity to earn the International Baccalaureate and Brazilian High School diplomas.
